Welcome from the Chair of Governors. Governing Body Register of Interests. On Wednesday, we took part in the Kings Heath Sports. Bells Farm are proud to be raising money for Sport. Our fortnightly Star Assembly took place this morning rewarding hardwork.
This week we have been consolidating our learning surrounding measures. We recapped the key vocabulary for capacity, length and weight and completed a variety of activities. We have moved on from non-standard units to using standard units including cm, m, g, kj, l and ml.
Today on the 16th July 2015 we had a class leavers party. We had a wonderful time playing lots of different party games. First we played a game where you dance and when the music stops you have to put a quoit on your head! Isaiah won this game. Next we played musical statues and Lexie, Katie, Nathanuel and Romarni won. In Year 3 we had a discussion about when we grow up. We talked about our aspirations and dreams. Also, we talked about the things we wanted out of life and how we would get there. Some wanted to be teachers and some wanted to work with animals. It was really interesting to share our own thoughts. Measuring perimeter of our classroom. This week we looked at the effect of adding glycerine to the mixture. We found that the sticky substance made the bubbles last longer. We then watched some videos and found out why bubbles are spheres. We mixed PVA glue with the paint to give our pots a shiny finish.
Year 5 have been reading The Last Wild by Piers Torday. Well done Kestrels, we can really work on these skills next year using the wonderful books you will read as Eagles.
